Office of Economic Vitality Seeking Director

The Tallahassee | Leon County Office of Economic Vitality seeks a full-time director. The director will oversee three divisions (strategic planning, engagement, and operations; minority, women, and small business enterprise; and research and analytics) and report to the director of the Department of PLACE. Minimum Training & Experience

Possession of a bachelor’s degree in public or business administration or a related field, and six years of professional experience, with four years of relevant supervisory experience; or possession of a master’s degree in public or business administration or a related field, and five years of professional experience, with four years of supervisory experience. Professional experience includes direct economic development, community development, research commercialization, and/or real estate development; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Four years of the required experience must have been in a supervisory capacity.

Necessary Special Requirements

Must obtain certification as a Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) within five years of employment as a condition of continued employment. Note: Preference may be given to applicants with a certification in economic development.
