BBED Week Business Exchange: Big Ideas, Big Bend, Big Impact

The Big Bend Enterprise Development (BBED) Week Business Exchange brought this year’s theme, “Big Ideas, Big Bend, Big Impact,” to life by connecting entrepreneurs, small businesses, community leaders, and resource partners in an environment designed to foster collaboration, innovation, and growth. The event offered attendees a unique opportunity to engage in meaningful conversations, build valuable relationships, and explore new pathways for business success throughout the Big Bend region.

Attendees connected directly with representatives from the Office of Economic Vitality, Florida State University Procurement Services, Leon County Schools, the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at FAMU, Blueprint Intergovernmental Agency, Leon County Purchasing, Domi Station, and the Florida Department of Transportation. These organizations shared information on procurement opportunities, business support services, entrepreneurial resources, and economic development initiatives, providing attendees with tools and connections to help strengthen and grow their businesses.

A highlight of the Business Exchange was the opportunity for attendees to participate in more personal, one-on-one discussions with exhibitors. Business owners and entrepreneurs were encouraged to share feedback, discuss their goals, and identify the types of opportunities, resources, and partnerships they would like to access in the future. These conversations created meaningful connections and strengthened the relationship between local businesses and organizations committed to supporting their success.

During lunch, attendees were inspired by special guest speaker Princess Ousley, whose uplifting message of perseverance, purpose, and possibility energized the room. Her words served as a powerful reminder that success begins with believing in your vision, embracing opportunities, and remaining committed to growth despite challenges.

The BBED Week Business Exchange celebrated the entrepreneurial spirit, collaboration, and innovation that continue to drive economic growth across our region. As attendees left with new connections, fresh ideas, and renewed inspiration, the event demonstrated exactly what is possible when Big Ideas come together across the Big Bend to create a Big Impact. Through partnership, engagement, and a shared commitment to progress, we are building a stronger and more vibrant future for businesses and communities throughout the region.
