MWSBE Spotlight: Bannerman Landscape

08/23/2022

Bannerman Landscape is a MWSBE Certified, women-owned business founded by Linda Hunkiar in 2008. They have over 25 years of industry experience in both commercial and residential landscaping. Their certified professional staff—including a FNGLA Certified Horticulturist; Florida Stormwater, Erosion, and Sedimentation Control Inspector; FNGLA Certified Landscape Technician; and ISA Certified Arborist—ensure all projects meet the highest standards and abide by environmental policies.

Procurement and contracting opportunities from the City of Tallahassee, Leon County, and Blueprint Intergovernmental Agency have defined goals for minority and women-owned business participation. Only firms certified with the Office of Economic Vitality are eligible to meet these goals. Our MWSBE staff has had the privilege of assisting Bannerman Landscape with the local procurement process for over a decade. They have contributed to over 20 projects for Tallahassee-Leon County, including the Innovation Park Walking Trail, Apalachee Regional Park, and St. Marks Headwaters Greenway. Most recently, Bannerman has successfully completed landscape and irrigation projects at Weems Road, Vanburen Street, and Magnolia Avenue.

“I am proud of our company’s business growth, largely thanks to the dedicated and helpful staff at the MWBSE office. More specifically, they continue to mentor me, provide training opportunities, and are always on the lookout for projects that are a fit for our company.”
